Southern Chester County is situated in the perfect location for commerce and business in the Southeastern part of Pennsylvania; 30 miles west of Philadelphia; surrounded by Delaware, Montgomery, Berks and Lancaster counties in PA and bordering the states of Delaware and Maryland.
Located in the southeast corner of Pennsylvania, Southern Chester County lies west of West Chester, south of the Pennsylvania Main Line and covers the lower one-third of Chester County.
Chester County is number seven of 20 in Most Populous Counties in PA as of 2010. Chester County: 2000/433,501 2010/498,886 Chester County Most Populous Cities and Townships in 2010: Of the 73 cities and townships in Chester County, Penn Township is number one with a 90.8 percent increase to 5,364.
Chester County is administered by a three-person Board of Commissioners, who serve four-year terms. Elections occur in the odd-numbered years that precede U.S. Presidential elections, with the next election in 2015. The Commissioners have selective policy-making authority to provide certain local services and facilities on a county-wide basis. Accordingly, the Commissioners are responsible for management of the fiscal and administrative functions of the County.
